      @DrRuthRoberts 6 днів тому

      I'm so glad to hear that my videos have been helpful to you during this challenging time. Pancreatitis can indeed be a frightening experience, both for your pet and for you as a caregiver. It's important to closely monitor his condition at home following such a severe episode. The persistence of diarrhea indicates that his digestive system is still quite sensitive and recovering. Managing his diet will be crucial in the next few days. A bland, low-fat diet can be beneficial. Foods that are easy to digest such as boiled chicken and rice, without any spices or oils, can help in settling his stomach and reducing gastrointestinal stress. It’s also important to ensure he stays hydrated but be cautious with his water intake; too much at once can lead to further stomach upset. Offering ice chips can help keep him hydrated without overloading his stomach. Monitoring his symptoms closely will be key in managing his recovery at home. Watch for signs of improvement or any worsening of symptoms. If he continues to have diarrhea, or if he starts vomiting, becomes lethargic, or shows signs of abdominal pain, it would be wise to contact your veterinarian promptly. These could be signs that his pancreatitis is not yet under control.

      You're very welcome! It's wonderful to hear that you're mindful about avoiding toxic products for your dog's health. When dealing with itching and digging at the rear end, it could be a sign of several issues, such as allergies or even fleas. You've mentioned using non-toxic approaches, which is excellent. It's essential to consider both dietary influences and environmental factors.

    I think my dog has kidney disease because when I took her in for a routine ultrasound that was included in her senior plan at my current bet, the results came back with two diagnosis of Diffuse hepatopathy and Bilateral chronic renal degeneration. She had had bloodwork prior to this five months before and the results of that compared to the iris data said that she would’ve been in early stage one. I don’t know if that bloodwork could’ve changed so that’s why I’m going to get it retested now that I have the ultrasound results. But I have driving myself crazy trying to figure out what I can do to keep my baby with me for as long as possible. I feed her Dr Harvey’s with 2oz of 90% lean ground beef and I give her solutions better butter tea goat, milk because she doesn’t drink a lot and never has which I think is part of the problem. I always have to find some other way of getting the hydration into her because she even with freshwater doesn’t like to go to the water bowl which I know is critical for kidney dogs she’s also an extremely picky eater.

    Is it good to feed enzymes to prevent or help pancreatitis to take the strain off it?

    • @DrRuthRoberts
      @DrRuthRoberts 11 днів тому

      Hi! Feeding enzymes to support pancreatitis can be a complex topic. Generally, during active pancreatitis, it's crucial to avoid supplemental enzymes because they can exacerbate the condition by further inflaming the already irritated pancreas. Instead, focusing on a low-fat, highly digestible diet can help alleviate the strain on the pancreas. For preventive measures or in cases of chronic pancreatitis where there isn't an acute flare-up, the use of enzymes needs to be very carefully managed. It's essential to work closely with your veterinarian to monitor your pet's condition and adjust their diet and supplements accordingly. The goal is to support the pancreas without overwhelming it, which can sometimes be a delicate balance.

      @hurtlingasteroid4014 11 днів тому

      @@DrRuthRoberts thanks Dr Ruth. I don't think my girl has pancreatitis, am trying to avoid it. I do give her a supplement that has probiotics and digestive enzymes though. If she is healthy is that okay? I will check with the vet I bought the product for the probiotics mostly and I read somewhere that if you don't feed raw, but gently cooked whole foods, that dogs may need enzymes. Sigh. Hard to know what to do sometimes.

      @@hurtlingasteroid4014 It's wonderful to hear that you're proactive about your dog's health and are considering all aspects of her diet. You're right; the decision-making process can sometimes feel overwhelming with all the available information. Using a supplement that includes both probiotics and digestive enzymes can be beneficial, especially if you're feeding gently cooked whole foods instead of a raw diet. Probiotics are excellent for maintaining healthy gut flora, which is crucial for overall health and digestion. As for digestive enzymes, they can indeed help in breaking down the food more efficiently, making nutrients more accessible for absorption, particularly if the diet lacks certain natural enzymes typically found in raw foods. However, it's smart to consult with your veterinarian, as you plan to do. They can provide guidance tailored to your dog's specific health needs and dietary requirements. Each pet is unique, and what works for one might not be ideal for another. Maintaining a diet that supports your dog's digestive health without stressing the pancreas is key. If you ever notice any changes in her digestion or overall health, it might be worth revisiting the balance of supplements and diet components you're using.

    Both my cats got diagnosed with chlamydia , the vet prescribed them an antibacterial eyedrops for five days and one of them is fully cured but the other cats is still having a few symptoms. So the vet prescribed him an ophthalmic ointment sterile . Is that enough? And should i give my other healthy cat the same ointment?

    • @DrRuthRoberts
      @DrRuthRoberts 7 днів тому

      I'm sorry to hear about the health challenges your cats are facing with chlamydia. It's good to hear that one of your cats has responded well to the treatment, but I understand your concern for the one still showing symptoms. Regarding the use of the ophthalmic ointment, it's generally a good step if the eyedrops were not fully effective. Ointments can sometimes offer a more prolonged contact time with the eye, which might help in clearing up any lingering infection. However, it’s crucial to monitor his response to the ointment closely and keep in touch with your vet if symptoms persist or worsen. As for your healthy cat, it's usually not necessary to treat animals that aren't showing symptoms. Preventative treatment isn't typically recommended unless there's a specific reason to believe the disease might spread or if your vet advises it based on their particular susceptibility or health history. Overuse of antibiotics can lead to resistance, so it's best used only when clearly needed. Always ensure that the treatment duration and dosages are followed as prescribed by your vet to avoid incomplete treatment, which can lead to recurrence of the infection.

      Supplements such as omega-3 fatty acids (fish oil) <pets.holisticpethealthcoach.com/3V12tMl> can be beneficial. They help reduce inflammation naturally and have a good safety profile for dogs with organ dysfunctions. Another option is to use CBD oil, which has been shown to help manage pain and inflammation without the harsh side effects that some medications might cause. Additionally, a diet tailored to reduce inflammation can play a significant role in managing arthritis. Foods that are high in antioxidants and low in processed ingredients can help reduce overall inflammation and improve joint health. The Crock Pet Diet by Dr. Ruth <pets.holisticpethealthcoach.com/44VX5hX> is designed to support overall health and reduce inflammation. Physical therapies like acupuncture and cold laser therapy can also provide pain relief without the need for drugs. These therapies are gentle and can be very effective in managing arthritis pain. Lastly, ensuring that your dog maintains a gentle exercise regimen can help maintain joint function and prevent stiffness. Even simple activities like short, slow walks can be beneficial.

    Hello Dr. Ruth, thank you for this informative share. Here's what's happening with my fur baby Gizmo(16 yrs young). Mind you, he has not been vomiting, nooo diarrhea but soft stool and no praying position. He has had bloating after eating and abdominal pain. This weekend, Gizmo was shaking and could only lift himself from his front paws. Ugh... rush is to the ER they ran blood work, and took xrays. Everything came back fine. Including neurological unremarkable aside some sensitivity on keft neck palpitation. Normal sensation and motor on all 4 limbs.I was told that he may have COMS(caudal occipital malformation syndrome). After bring given Cernis and Hypertonic saline his neurological symptoms improve drastically. The suggested he be admitted for a few days and seen by neurology . $6-8000! I said, no way. Total bill was almost $1600.00! Discharge with Hycodan 5mg tabs. Give 1/4 tab every 6-8 hours. Visbiome Vet Capsules: 1 capsule by mouth every 24 hours. Omeprazole 20mg: 1/4 tab every 24 hours. When we left there he was standing and walking slowly. That night I checked on him at 3am. He had defecated on himself and could not stand at all. Rushed him back to the ER. 5 hours later, basically the same thing and same recommendation. Take him home and give him the meds and another bill of almost $500! I got busy trying to help my Gizmo. Gave him his meds. I prayed over him. I massaged his legs and out a few drops of cbd on his inner thighs. Within an hour he was able to push himself up onto his rear legs and walking slowly. Til this day he is able to walk slowly. The problem is that today his was shaking alot after i gave him some homemade pureed food( chicken, carrots, broccoli, sweet potato,etc). He didn't eat a lot. Sooooo...off to a different ER vet closer to home. This vet suspects pancreatitis and also may have kidney issues due to elevated labs. Creatinine 2.0, BUM 49, ALP 585, and Lipase 4860! Suggested $1000 sonogram and if necessary admit for a few days for treatment for $3-4000! I said, " Im on SS, I'm already in the holde for $2800 with all these visits. I cant afford anything else! They sent him home with Clavamax for possible UTI, Cerenia for 4 day( got an injection at the ER and more gabapentin. Told to continue other meds too (accept for gabapentin pills since she gave me the liquid and syringe). Dr. Ruth any advice from you would be greatly appreciated. After Gizmo and my other dog Lucky, its over. NO MORE PETS. PS: NEVER SAID DON'T FEED HIM for a period of time. Just the opposite, gave me meds that must be given with food!

    Please pray for me. I’m so stressed out. My 13.5 year old chihuahua had labs done this week and had a creatinine of 12. It was normal 2 years ago. She got a Rabies vaccine 3 weeks ago and has collapsed trachea. She’s sometimes aggressive so they muzzled her at the vet. I wasn’t there but they say she passed out and needed oxygen. Basically it’s so hard to watch your dog deteriorate over night. I’ve already spent 2600 dollars. Emergency 3 day overnight will be 5 to 6 thousand. This all happened so fast.

    My Sampson is a 7 year old male neutered jack Russell/Chihuahua that has always had bouts of extreme anxiety. I spent a lot of time at home making changes in food, treats, omit treats, and finally switch his diet to strictly boiled chicken and rice. I've had him on 50/50 alternating diet of chicken and rice one day then back to his preferred wet beef chunk pedigree mixed w dry (blue or other higher Brand of dry.....I know the pedigree defeats the purpose. Anyways a couple of weeks ago out of the blue my dog got really sick. He wasn't vomitting and no diarrhea or anything quite the opposite he wants like a whole week without hardly eating or drinking any water or going to the bathroom at all. He was also obviously distressed and in pain as well as being in that prayer position. I finally took him to the emergency vet. They ended up keeping him for three days after running tests and diagnosing him with pancreatitis. I'm not sure what they did in those three days other than keep him on fluids I know they gave him an injection of some medication for pancreatitis and sent him home with a few antibiotics some stomach acid relief pills and some nausea medicine which I was unable to give him due to the fact that he would not eat or drink anything. Not only would he not eat or drink anything but I could not get near him without him lashing out at me like a rabid Pitbull trying to bite me. Every time I need the slightest movement scream and cry and last out and try to bite me. That's been about 3 weeks ago now and I assume that all of that has to do with the fact that I left him for 3 days because I've never left him he goes everywhere I go he rides in the car we go to the store I never leave him home. I just thought leaving him for 3 Days in there and letting them do all that stuff to him he thinks I'm the enemy and it would pass. But it hasn't passed. He's starting to eat and drink water again and he gets around a lot better now but I have no prescriptions for him nobody gave him anything really other than those few pills and now my dog hates me he thinks I'm the enemy he's not the same dog he was at all he won't go outside he won't leave my room he's skittish and he's just scared all the time and he was a little tough guy he was never scared of anything. My question to you is do you think that this will pass have you ever heard anything like this before. Or has anybody experienced anything like this?

    Thank you so much for making this, Dr. My 16.5 year old male cat rejects the Aventia his internist gave him. He ate it at first in his wet food, but after a week he gave it a hard pass. Tried a couple weeks later with a much smaller amount and he walked away from the dish. I know getting fish oil into him is crucial. Do you have any tips for how I could do this with some success? I assume he’s not into the overtly fishy smell.

      Since your cat is not keen on the overtly fishy smell of the Aventia, you might consider trying a fish oil product with a different scent profile. Some fish oils come with flavor enhancements like orange or lemon, which might be less off-putting to your cat than the traditional fishy aroma. These can sometimes be more palatable to cats who are sensitive to stronger fish odors.

    Subscribed. Nowadays I believe many people like myself are searching for natural cures and alternative treatments for all our ailments. I am aware of the tons of chemicals and how evil is genetic modifying everything. This stuff is far from healthy. Not good us nor our animals or the environment. Its Fake, is poison to anything natural. it's killing everything. Especially food with changed or altered dna, it's not recognized by our bodies therefore means zero nutrition. Jmo

    • @DrRuthRoberts
      @DrRuthRoberts 7 днів тому

      Hi, Standard Process Renal Supplements are not exclusively for senior dogs. They are designed to support kidney health across various life stages and conditions. While it's true that kidney issues are more common in older dogs, younger dogs with kidney challenges or those exposed to factors that may stress kidney function can also benefit from these supplements. The formulation aims to support the entire renal system, which can be beneficial for dogs of any age dealing with kidney health concerns.

    What makes your certification program different from others that I am researching?

    • @DrRuthRoberts
      @DrRuthRoberts 2 місяці тому

      Hello, Our program is all done for you. You get the support you need during and after the program through weekly coaching calls with Dr. Ruth, a dedicated mentor, and a whole support team. Usually, when you graduate, other programs wish you luck, and you're on your own, but this is not how we do it because we believe in ongoing support when it is most needed, which is always after you finish the course. Dr. Ruth will remain a mentor to you for a while after graduation, alongside lifetime access to our community in Circle with your colleagues and other coaches so that if you have any clients with specific issues, you can seek advice/help. Exchange new information with other certified coaches, make connections and build a network to get clients, we make sure we're always connected to know that you're not out there alone and are always here for each other if you need asstaince. The program has received approval for 40 hours of RACE CE Credits for Veterinarians and Vet techs through AAVSB; this is the only holistic program with that approval.

    My boxer was dx with hemangiosarcoma when her spleen ruptured and she died! I did CPR and brought to ER! I was told her dx, I said give me something to stop the bleeding! I gave her Chinese herb& brought to my traditional vet! He told me she had 3 days to live or euthanize her! Well I am in human healthcare, so I researched everything! Post dx now 8 months she is thriving! She is on a holistic natural food diet plus mushrooms, and supplements! I have thrown the kitchen sink at it! She is doing great with a great quality of life! So yes if people would learn that TCVM & natural food diet can definitely help! Of course she is going to be 9 years old in 2 weeks, she has a fight to live because knows she can’t leave me alone! We had just lost my husband her father months prior to her dx! So yes she is not in pain and enjoying life! I now introduced Ivermectin for heartworm prevention plus natural oils because I live in Louisiana! I will never let her suffer, so I also pray everyday for guidance!❤❤❤

    I have a cat that was a stray I have been working with getting her healthy. I am fighting some kind of bacteria or worm. The vet said it was ring worm they have tried multiple meds and latest she foams at the mouth. And then vomits. I said no more. So she went in to get checked after her getting fixed. And she had 4 more raw wounds when she was fine days earlier. The fur is gone and it is red. Vet took a look says it’s bacteria. But won’t tell me any more. This girl is a sweet heart and I just don’t feel what they are doing for her is working. Any suggestions. All they want to do is give her drug after drug. It’s not working obviously. Very frustrated cat lover.

    Doesn’t capstar only work for a day thought ? Great video and great info to know ! Thank you ! I used the Seresto Collar for both my dogs with no issues once already. But yikes ! I’d hate to have a problem next time . One of my dogs is 5 pounds and the other is 20 . I don’t like that they make the small dog one such a wide range of weight for “ small dog “ . I was worried about putting it on my smaller dog and was surprised she was ok . But she’s 14 . I’m not taking any chances. I love my dogs so very much!
